Graduation ceremony for the Advanced Sommelier Course
On Tuesday, February 21st, 14 sommelier students graduated at ALMA, thus closing the second edition of the Advanced Sommelier Course. Students have faced a five-month journey including lessons and training sessions, field trips and internship.
ALMA Managing Director Riccardo Carelli highlighted the importance of this Course for the promotion of professional welcoming and restaurant service, a key concept ALMA is aiming at. Andrea Sinigaglia, as Responsible of ALMA Wine Academy, focused on the uniqueness of ALMA teaching method. A constant dialogue and exchange between teachers and students, but also strictness and professionalism, in order to facilitate students’ future career in the field.
While greeting the students, who were also honored by the presence of famous wine producer Joško Gravner, the Rector of ALMA Gualtiero Marchesi said that «Personal taste and pleasure are the only necessary elements for drinking. Tasting requires skills and intelligence».
Among the 14 graduates, Myriam Moretto (Casorezzo, Milano), Emily Johnston (Los Angeles, California) and Sandro Brusco (Belmonte Calabro, Cosenza) were given the grade of 95/100,the highest in the course.
