ALMA-AIS Sommelier Master

A course to put the finishing touches to the Sommelier’s training with specific preparation dedicated to the management and promotion of wine.

  • 4th level AIS Diploma

  • Sommeliers, Restaurateurs, Operators and Experts with a 3rd level AIS diploma, an ALMA Sommelier certificate (Superior Sommelier Course) or equivalent qualification.
  • 4th Edition: 24 September 2012 - 25 June 2013

    The course has been organised to allow those who work to take part, and requires students to be present at ALMA for the first 23 weeks, from 3 October 2011 until 31 May 2012 (including final exams) split as follows:

     

    • Residential Phase: 3 October 2011 – 19 March 2012
      Lessons will be held on Mondays, except for public holidays or special events, from 9.00am to 100pm and from 2.00pm until 6.00pm for a total of 23 days, corresponding to the same number of 8-hour modules. As well as entire days dedicated to classroom lessons and tastings, the residential phase includes educational visits to special areas and distance learning.
      An 80% attendance record is compulsory during this stage, corresponding to 128 hours of lessons and 96 hours’ worth of educational visits.
    • Internship Phase: 20 March –  29 May 2012
      The internship will take place in Italy (or abroad upon specific request of participants), at various organisations linked to the world of the sommelier and communication, and will be organised according to the educational, training and logistic requirements of individual participants.
    • Final exams at ALMA: 30 - 31 May 2012

  • The fee of €4,000 + 21% VAT includes the lectures and related teaching material, plus lunch on lesson days and educational visits.
    Attendance does not include subscription to AIS for the year 2012.
