A mathematician turned engineer, struck by lightning on the road to Super Tuscan. Today, Ciro Fontanesi, born in 1984, is a wine culture educator at ALMA and coordinator of the ALMA Wine Academy. It was during his university studies that Fontanesi attended the AIS first, second and third level sommelier courses. His consecration came when he graduated from the ALMA-AIS Master’s programme in 2012. He counts his experience as a sommelier at the three-star Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence among his achievements. Today, he is considered one of Italy’s leading experts not only on wine but also on tea.
