Pierluigi Gorgoni

A lecturer at ALMA since the first edition of the Advanced Course in Italian Cuisine in 2004, Pierluigi Gorgoni collaborated with Enoteca Ombre Rosse, Locanda Mariella and HIFI News Musica da Tavola while studying medicine at the University of Parma, organising tastings and also working in the dining room, already captivated by his passion for wine and music.

He taught Slow Food Master courses on wine between 2002 and 2006 and between 2005 and 2008 he collaborated with the Department of Food Science and Technology at ALMA MATER STUDIORUM – UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA with seminars and journalistic articles on the narration and tasting of extra virgin olive oil. Since 2013, he has been teaching on the Master’s degree course in Communication at the LIBERA UNIVERSITÀ DI LINGUE E COMUNICAZIONE IULM in Milan. From 2015 to 2018, he taught critical tasting for the Valpolicella Wine Consortium as part of its international ambassador training programmes. in 2011, he produced a series of training videos for the Consorzio del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco on pairing Prosecco DOCG with food, and between 2021 and 2022, he collaborated with the Emilian Consortia (Lambrusco and Colli Bolognesi) to create training seminars for journalists in the sector.

His career as a journalist and writer began in 1995, collaborating with various fanzines and independent magazines, writing about cinema, theatre and music (jazz in particular). By 1998, he was already writing for national magazines, contributing to Optima Salute (a monthly pharmaceutical information magazine) and writing a regular column on Lombard cuisine for Malpensa Express.
He was a member of the editorial committee and tasting manager for the bimonthly magazine SPIRITOdiVINO from its first issue in April 2004 until 2013.
For nine editions, from 2008 to 2016, he was the author and taster for L’Espresso’s Guida I Vini d’Italia (for which he focused in particular on wines from the regions of Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, South Tyrol, Emilia Romagna and Puglia).
Between 2008 and 2016, he was also one of the contributors to the food and wine culture pages of the weekly magazine L’Espresso, in particular the wine column.

He is the editor-in-chief of a food supplement called LA GLOTTIDE- respiri, suoni, ingoi (breaths, sounds, swallows) for the online magazine Lavinium (https://www.lavinium.it/gli-inserti-settimanali-in-pdf-de-la-glottide/).
Under a pseudonym, he writes articles on basketball, particularly the NCAA and NBA, for online magazines, and draws cartoons with a gastronomic-political background for online magazines.
